Hi, I’m struggling to change my sidebar widget as the option to choose one is unavailable if I select left or right after “select main content and sidebar arrangement”, however it is available if the Left and Right option is selected. Please refer to screenshots below. Please Help!!
You can set up the position of a sidebar from page’s options or from Layout > Pages Default Layout. The second one will be assign that layout to all pages. The first one, overwrites the Layout option, to the one you chose in the Page’s Options > Overwrite the default post layout.
I think you’ve misunderstood my problem – it is not page layout I’m having issues with, it is selecting a sidebar widget within page options. If you look carefully at my 2 screenshots –
1) when the left or right sidebar arrangement is selected, I’m unable to select an item for it
2) if both sidebar arrangement option is selected, both sidebar menus appear for selection (which is right, but I want the single sidebar arrangement layout!)
When you select one sidebar layout (either left ot right) it will automatically choose the default sidebar, which is the “Sidebar Pages.” You can select the sidebar to use only in case of two sidebar layout.
Oh…. I believe that’s a flaw on the theme as it would be much more flexible to be able to select different sidebars with the one sidebar layout~ Thanks
The theme is very flexible in most of the features. Even with sidebars. You can use custom sidebars. Just leave empty the default one (Sidebar Page) and create as many sidebars as you want in General Options > Custom Sidebars.
