Hi there,
I recently purchased your theme Specular, and I found a big problem just to start, there is something deeply wrong with permalinks. For some reason, permalinks won’t work, by default when you install the theme, the site has custom permalinks, something like /index.php/post-name, well those are working, and also wordpress default permalinks are working, but whenever you try to change it, to Post Name, Day and Name, Numeric, etc. the permalinks just fails returning a 404 – page not found.
I tried several things in order to fix it, but not lucky so far, this is what i tried:
- Deleting .htaccess, and uploading wordpress basic .htaccess, did not work.
- Also trying to uploading wordpress basic with ‘<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>’.
- Deleting/renaming .htaccess, and resaving permalinks from wordpress dashboard, in order to create a fresh one automatically, did not work either.
- I also reseted the whole wordpress installation twice, in case it could went something wrong with installation, and same thing for the theme.
- Tried disabling plugins one by one, to see if could be any conflict with, same luck.
I’m pretty stucked right now, cause i thought maybe could be just with demo pages, but nope. It’s a permalinks problem in general, any new page I create won’t show up either with “custom” permalinks.
By the way, the plugin WPBakery Visual Composer randomly shows an update alert, but when you try to update it, the plugin redirects you to codecanyon site, to buy it for 35$, i assumed such a plugins would be included with the theme. (it is currently 4.7.4 on my site, and seems like 4.8 version it’s already released).<span style=”color: #000000; font-family: ‘Open Sans’, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; font-weight: 600; line-height: 19.5px; white-space: nowrap;”> </span>
Thank you for your time, any guidance on how to proceed will be very helpful.
Cheers.

Hello,
Please reset permalinks. Set it to default, save, then to your custom structure, save again.
Visual Composer plugin is indeed included in theme package, it’s free and fully compatible with theme options. We update it to it’s latest version (of the time) in every theme update. We release updates frequently so it never gets to old for you to have issues.
If you must update before, then you will have to buy it.Best regards!

Already tried that, resaving default permalinks etc. But still won’t work. Any idea about what is it wrong?

Hi there, after a lot of researching, I found out the root problem. It was a weird thing about sync up htacces with hosting server, first time i saw that, was all about the host company, and it’s already fixed.
Thank you very much for the effort.

By the way, I double checked the /wp-admin login credentials, and it works fine, that forbidden is something weird. Did you try to login from “surefood.es/wp-admin”?
In any case, I’ll change the password soon for security reasons, hope i won’t get forbiddens like those in the future.
Thank you again.
