That is caused because of a css code that you added. You can find it in your homepage if you go to page settings. The css code that is stretching the pictures is the code below:

.portfolio-item .tpl2 img { min-height: 353px;}

If you remove it the pictures will look fine.

I added the following css code below to make the yellow areas look as they should:

    max-width: 80% !important;
    padding-right: 0px !important;
    float: none !important;
    }
}

For the screenshot i added the css code below:

@media (max-width: 480px){
.top_nav .aligncenter {
    margin-left: 0px !important;
    margin-top:30px !important;}
}
