Grayscale style will show that grayscale style, you can play with the available options to choose any other style which does not have that effect.

I can see color is applied upon hover but I am not getting what you mean by active ? Do you want to remove that gray effect from all items ? Or anything else kindly be specific so I can assist you accordingly. By now I can’t see any active item there so it is confusing to get it right.
