The page you have now is just one simple post. You have to assign a page as homepage first. Do that in Folie > Homepage Settings (screenshot).

In the Portfolio element options > Overlay (when you hover portfolio and click on it, the options will unfold in the left sidebar), Set ON the “Show Icon“. Another option will be added after this the “Icon“. Select ‘Lightbox‘ option for it. Like in this screenshot: https://postimg.org/image/5npkfzmth/

Save changes. I already did these changes for you. Please clear cache and refresh page.

We updated the necessary script files in folder js and edited this block:

But you must keep in mind that for the lightbox to take action, there must be at least 5 items in a portfolio page and all portfolio items should have been set the featured image.

The portfolio has the filter option that you have already chosen to display (screenshot). Are you referring to show only the selected category images to display in the lightbox?

You can get such effect on hover, via css. The example you send is using this css:
