Looking at options for a side menu, I choose Appearance>Layout>Extra Side Navigation. The right-hand menu icon appears and the overlays slides in when I click on it. But I’m not clear how to populate it. I attempted to do so by creating a side navigation page as described in the Specular documentation:
Steps to create Side navigation page:
1- Navigate to Pages and click Add New
2- Name your new page and then find the Page Attributes box on the right side.
3- Select Left Navigation from the page template dropdown list
4- Save
5- We created the main page, now we’ll create the side navigation. For each navigation item will be assigned a unique page.
6- To add pages to the side navigation set, create another page and select the previously created page as the Parent Page
7- Set the template of this new page, also as Side Navigation
8- Choose to have the side navigation position to left or right by selecting Left or Right in the Layout box (Page admin panel)
9- Menu order is set alphabetically, change it by inserting a new order for each page in the Order field.
However, this creates another side menu and ignores the one created using Appearance>Layout>Extra Side Navigation.
This left nav menu is another thing. You need to populate the Extra Nav. You can do that by adding the menu into Appearances > Widgets > Extra Navigation.
In the Extra Navigation Widget Area, you can add Menu Navigation and other widgets that you wish.
Specular > Styling Options > Footer Styling changed the footer style but not the extra navigation style. Specifically, I’d like to change the font color to a lighter, legible color. Please see the page:
