specular 3.1 broke my site

  Hello,
  
  I use wordpress “Deluxe Managed WordPress Websites” with godaddy hosting.
  
  I received from Envato Market E-mail address <[email protected]> a message informing me that an update of Specular was available.
  
  From within WordPress> Dashboard > Envato Market > Themes …
  … it shows shows “Update Available, view 3.1 details”
  
  When I clicked on the words “update available” I got a spinning circle for a while. When it stopped, from WordPress> Dashboard > Appearances > Themes …
  … it showed version 3.1. So, I figured that the updated version of the theme was uploaded.
  
  Thereafter, all the pages and posts on the website were just a completely white screen with no errors or warnings. I phoned technical service for my hosting company and was told this is the screen of death.
  
  My hosting company shows the version of wordpress I use is 5.2.
  Their tech services says the php version is 7.2.
  
  The hosting company allows me to restore the files and data base to a couple days ago. I did that and my wordpress is now using Specular version 3.0.
  
  The hosting company told me to tall you that Specular’s latest update is not compatible with WordPress 5.2 and php 7.2
  
  Please help.

  Hello,
  
  Did you update and activated the required plugins again after theme update? The plugins will be deactivated after activating the new theme so you need to activate them again to have site show correctly.

  Another person is helping me try to figure out how to correct the problem.
  
  We found that the default page heading was not showing up on any of my pages. If I create a new page the default page headings are there.
  
  As a short term work-around, I one-by-one, on every page, turned ON the “Overwrite the default page options.” Then on the individual pages the header was appearing.
  
  Now, I can’t globally change the headings on all my pages at once. But, I’m not going to want to do that anyway.
