Hi there,
I’ve been living with a site issue for a few years now, and just recently repurchased support.
Any time that I go to update the content of any page in the wordpress visual composer, ALL of the content on that page is deleted. This means that any time we need to edit a page, we have to reload the entire page. Time consuming and disruptive!
This started happening after WordPress changed the visual composer a couple of years ago.
I’m hoping to receive support to fix our website and ensure that we can update pages normally.
Thank you!

Hi,
Please make sure all theme-required plugins are installed and up-to-date. Also, de-activate all the third-party plugins and activate them one by one to check whether it’s a plugin that’s causing the issue. Thanks,
-
Hi Azam,
Can you please provide me with a list of which plugins are theme-required? This will help with double-checking whether plug-ins are the problem.
Thanks!
-
Hi,
The theme-required plugins depend upon the demo you’ve installed on your site. The required plugins depend on whether you’ve installed the Elementor version or the WP-Bakery version.De-activate all the plugins, you’ve enabled on your site. Then your site will display all the plugins that are required by the Codeless specular theme on top of the screen.
Thanks,
-
Hi,
We’ve installed the Wp-Bakery version. From what I can tell we are on an old version of Specular and have missed many updates. This seems to be due to having an old version of Envato Toolkit. When we try to update to the new, non-deprecated Envato Toolkit, we receive the following error: Update failed: Directory listing failed.
This appears to be due to not having the secret API key connected to the Envato Toolkit page, and I can’t access the Secret API Key via your settings download page, as suggested here: “to obtain your API Key, visit your “My Settings” page on any of the Envato Marketplaces.”
Please let us know how we can install Envato Toolkit so that our Specular theme updates can resume. Do we need the API key? We are hoping this will resolve the problem. Without theme updates, we are also struggling to access many other plugins.
Thanks.

Hi Azam, thanks for this information. We’ve updated the site according to the above, but unfortunately, it appears to have caused some significant issues, even after installing the backwards compatibility plugin. I’m currently receiving this error on the homepage. Can you let us know how to resolve it? Even after selecting “codeless” slider in the back end, it doesn’t seem to make a difference. “Please select a Codeless Slider before. Click Edit Page -> Slider Options (at the bottom of page options)

Hi,
– Error on the Homepage
Please share the screenshots of errors or steps you’re following. Also, please share the WP-Admin and FTP credentials (username, password) using the private reply.– Old Specular version
Please mention the Specular version you’re previously on. We’ll ask the concerned department to check the mentioned version in the theme archive. We generally recommend, keeping a backup of the site before updating the theme/theme-required plugins.
Thanks,

Hi,
Please check i have fixed error which you were facing while activating RevSlider. Thanks,
-
Hi there, thank you, it seems that this has fixed RevSlider, but I’m still having issues creating one. It’s also possible we were using a different slider beforehand — the Codeless slider.
I’m wondering how to create a new codeless slider. The option does not seem to be available on the left sidebar.

Hi,
Sir, Lets not mess up with RevSlider and Codeless Slider.
Previously you told me that you were facing issue in RevSlider – it has been fixed. -
Yes, I understand this. But upon further troubleshooting, it seems that we may also be using Codeless Slider on a page and I would like to know where it is possible to create one.
The RevSlider now does allow creation of a slider, but the slide editing sections freeze up and don’t permit further slide creation. It tries to load endlessly. While I was looking at it and troubleshooting, I realized it’s possible we actually use Codeless Slider. That’s why I’m asking how to edit that as well, so that I can test.

Hi,
Yes, we’ve confirmed the issue with the concerned department. The response we got from there is, In the latest version of Codeless Framework, the Codeless slider is deprecated. You can display the slider on your page using either of the slider options available inside the select options available on the Slider Options.
For Revolution Slider, could you please share a screenshot or a video demonstrating the issue?
Thanks,
