I’m now responsible for a website that was built before I joined my current company. It’s been running with Specular 2.2. on SiteGround hosting. SG’s recent conversion from cPanel to Site Tools forced a WordPress update that was causing a lot of issues. I’ve resolved most of them by rolling back to an earlier version of WordPress for now, but the top-level menu still isn’t displaying correctly and I can’t effectively edit things like the codeless slider that was used on the homepage. I’ve just purchased the latest version of Specular so that I can effectively update everything, but when I try uploading it to the site it totally wrecks the current layout (see linked screenshots).
This was done in a staging area, so fortunately the live site hasn’t been effected yet but please contact me to advise on how I can get the current site updated to the latest version of Specular without all of the current content and layout disappearing.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi,
The reason is old versions of theme are not working with latest theme as WordPress has changed a lot so now you have to change your theme as well along with all plugins. But in the process your website may break you have to manually fix those things. As current stable version of theme is 4 while you are using 2.
Thank you
