Hi,
I want to add page-link to icons on the homepage. The text underneath the icons have the link, but I want that the icon above also to have the same link to a page.
My website: https://www.contracom.nl/GKS/
Hope hearing from you soon.

Hello,
Please go to file specular\vc_templates\services_large.php and find this line:
if(!empty($icon)): $output .= '<div class="icon_wrapper"><span class="top"></span><span class="left"></span><span class="right"></span><span class="bottom"></span><i class="'.esc_attr($icon).'"></i></div>'; endif;
Replace with this:
if(!empty($icon)): $output .= '<div class="icon_wrapper"><span class="top"></span><span class="left"></span><span class="right"></span><span class="bottom"></span><a href="'.esc_url($data['link']).'"><i class="'.esc_attr($icon).'"></i></a></div>'; endif;
Let us know.
Best regards! -
Hi Mihaila,
This works well, thanks.
But what happens with an update of the theme?
Do I have to change these lines again?

Hello,
Yes, if you update theme these changes will be lost because all theme files will be overwritten.
You can either save a copy and redo the changes again. Or use a child theme.Best regards!

Hi,
this solution is not working any longer, as “specular\vc_templates\services_large.php” is not existing in new template version?!
Any suggestions how to resume to that function? Thanks in advance.
-
Hi,
Can you share the specific page URL where you’re facing this issue? Thanks,
-
Hi,
it’s not a particular problem, it’s global as far as the folder “…themes/specular/vc_templates” is not existing anymore. Therefore the changes in the child-theme in services_*.php are reflecting no effect.
I found the files now in /wp-content/plugins/specular-wpbakery-addons/public/vc_templates/services_large.php and adjusted it there.
But I’m sure these files will be overwritten in case of an update!
So where should I make the changes to make them persistent? It seems that codeless has stopped the use of visual-composer?
regards
Michael-
Hi,
Now, codeless is using a modified version of the Visual Composer. So now you need to store a copy of the changes you’ve made in the plugin “Specular Wp-Bakery”. So that whenever the theme/plugin gets an update then you can restore the changes from that file. Thanks,

Hello,
thanks for reply.
I think you’re reflecting on the “Specular WPBakery Addons & Backward Compatibility”, right? That’s not a good idea! Updates often take place and you’re not aware of these changes te renew them.
I’m using wpbakery as a full version (purchased) plugin.
Are there any incompatibilities against the full version vs. your version?Second I

Hi,
Yes, you’ve to do these changes in the “Specular WPBakery Addons & Backward Compatibility” plugin. We’ve noticed the fact also we recommend you to share this in our “Suggest Us Feature” forum and will try to resolve it in our upcoming theme updates.
No, there’s no incompatibilities issue between the full version and our version but we recommend you to use the Codeless version of WP-Bakery.
Thanks,

Hi,
“No, there’s no incompatibilities issue between the full version and our version but we recommend you to use the Codeless version of WP-Bakery.”
I think I have to disagree.
In WPBakery there is a function in the line parameters “equal height”. This is not present when using Specular! But this is an essential function that we urgently need.
I opened a new topic for this issue…
