Please open the page from the options panel. Go to the element in top header area and select the text. In the text editing option bar, select octothorp icon (#) to add a link for your text. See screenshot: https://postimg.org/image/fdoacyrid/
Did you save the changes? That’s not possible not to work. We have tested it. Please send us some valid wp credentials in a private reply. So i can check what is not correct on your side.
