If I place the Tower Social Widget inside the Copyright Footer Sidebar, the icons appear.
On the contrary, if I place it inside the Top Header Left / Top Header Right / Header Widgetized Area (either of these), nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong?

That happened because you didn’t turn on the Show Top Navigation button on Header options > Top Widgetized Area. I was able to place the tower social widget on the top header right area, check your site. Let us know if you need further help.
