  where do I put .po and .mo translation files and how should I name them?
  
  I suppose I can use lang/en.po as a base?
  
  Only I don’t find ‘you are here’ in it

  Yes you can use the en.po file as base. Add all the missing strings in the file using a .po file editor. Such as PoEditor.

  If the string is not present then you have to add it. Use a po file editor just like explained in my last reply.
