Theme Upgrade Support HELP

  Hello,
  
  I need help upgrading as it’s not displaying correctly and I’m not sure where to look or why?
  
  1. I FTP’d and downloaded
  
  2. I used a backup service
  
  3. I downloaded the Specular latest version.
  
  4. I renamed my Specular folder Specular – OLD
  
  5. I uploaded the Specular folder.
  
  – All of the changes I made to the font, styling, etc. aren’t there.
  
  – My custom top isn’t there
  
  – My footer is different
  
  I don’t understand. I thought custom changes to the Specular Child should be intact.
  
  I have since changed the update to NEW and reinstated my old version via FTP.
  
  Here’s a screenshot of the before and after:

  Now when I log into WordPress, it says my Theme is up to date.
  
  What should I do?
  
  I’m updating because every time I messaged WPBakery (Visual Composer) about why a div, class, or feature wasn’t working, there response was always it’s your Theme.
  
  Please help asap and let me know direct message me for site credentials.

  Hello,
  
  I tried to log in but it seems impossible with the sftp credentials you have shared.
  
  Please can you check that the name of the Specular folder has to be “specular”.
  
  Also, check out to install any plugin that it is required and sometimes you have also to activate them.

  Where are these plugins you speak about?

  I have just tried to login but again i receive this error:
  
  Unable to reach a settlement: [diffie-hellman-group14-sha1, diffie-hellman-group1-sha1] and [[email protected], ecdh-sha2-nistp256, ecdh-sha2-nistp384, ecdh-sha2-nistp521, diffie-hellman-group-exchange-sha256]. The connection attempt was rejected. The server may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.
  
  Let me know.
  
  Please if I can’t access the SFTP, change the name of the specular_new to specular so we can check what causes your issues.
  
  Are you sure that you have nothing changed to the original theme files?

  I don’t believe that the developer that made changes did it on the parent theme, but will figure this out.
  
  I will try the Export & Import.
  
  After doing the update, should I still have the Specular menu in WordPress where I can choose my font and element settings?
  
  I had that option in addition to appearance prior to the update, but don’t have it after the update.

  The reason that you don’t see the Specular is that you haven’t installed the Codeless Framework plugin. Appearances > Plugins.
  
  Find it Install and Activate maybe this is the issue why you have all those problems.

  Ok, the issues that I mentioned above are still not working.
  
  Most importantly, I’m not able to save templates (Columns or Row Elements).
  
  I have WPBakery and their add-on Templetera which worked for a short period of time.
  I have support with WPBakery and every time they say it’s an issue with my theme.
  How do we test and address?

  Hello,
  
  Sorry for the inconvenience. You can save only the element as template. I recommend you save the Row as template and not an element or a single tab.
  
  This is the only solution.

  I have created a test page and there tried to save on the templates. It did work for me. You can find the templates saved.
