We just started working with a client who has a site running WP 5.1.12 and Tower Theme version 1.9 (also running on PHP 5.4). We’re working on getting their PHP version updated to 7.4, WordPress to 5.9.1 and the theme running the current version. Needless to say, we’re running into challenges.
Is there an upgrade path that you recommend for the theme. Most of the time, when we’re doing a significant update, we need to install a few versions in between to follow a specific upgrade path. Is there way to download older versions of the theme to do incremental updates?
I have a staging site where I attempted to do an update to the current version, but as expected, ran into issues with missing shortcodes (from Visual Composer I believe), missing widgets, content not loading.

EZMarketing,
As per our policy and we always provide the regular update (since its lifetime) for all our clients, from 1.9 to till latest version – we have published so many version, I have request our team to provide us couple of version, if we have it – definitely you will get it. We always encourage the Changes must be done in Child Theme rather than main theme.Alternately, you can put Live site copy to Staging Server and start Updating process, if you are getting so many error, we can give assistance or you can google the Error.
Thanks,

Hi,
To upgrade the WordPress from the old version to the latest, follow the below article:– Upgrading Tower theme
We’ve sent the email to the development team to check whether the older version of Codeless Tower theme still available in the archive or not. We’ll let you know once, we get response from the developement team. Thanks,

Thank you. We’re definitely not having issues updating wordpress itself, other than the fact that we can’t update past WordPress 5.4.9 or the theme breaks (white screen of death) and if we update the theme from the vs 1.9 to current version directly, the them doesn’t update well and home page buttons in Visual Composer change to shortcodes, layouts are broken, so we’re hoping there’s an incremental theme upgrade path that helps us get to the current version without having to rebuilt it significantly.
