I have had issues updating to the latest version of the template and Visual Composer 4.12. Prior to this I had updated to 1.9 of the theme and VC 4.11, also with the same issues.
Editing any element loads the wrong editor, for example editing a Row brings up a dialogue that says Row but the contents are from the Youtube plugin editor. I cannot save any changes either, the VC icon spins and clicking it suggests purchasing the plugin.
I have deactivated and deleted the theme and associated plug-ins, both via WordPress and manually using my hosting file manager. I have then downloaded a fresh copy of the theme and run the installer and the required plug-in installer from within WordPress several times but it still doesn’t change anything.
