Hi-
My visual composer is not working properly. I just updated wordpress to the new version. I also updated my theme and my visual composer following your instructions.
When I go in to my Visual Composer backend or frontend editor and try to edit text, I can only edit the HTML version of text. When I click on the visual tab it doesn’t do anything, just stays in the text tab. Can you help??
Thank you!

Hello,
Please disable all third party plugins first. Then enable them one at a time to find the one conflicting with Visual Composer.
Let us know.Best regards!

Hi-
I did this one by one with all plugins and deactivating didn’t do anything to get VC to work.

Hello,
Please double-check wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.js.gz file to see if it exists. This issue is not present in our side so most probably you could have corrupted files. Send us your ftp as well. So we can check the files.
Best regards!

Hello,
I checked the files folder and the file is there and it has the right access rights. But there is an error in your site and it says that file access of “wp-includes/js/tinymce/wp-tinymce.php” is forbiten, screenshot.
Please contact your host regarding this. As it is a server issue.
Let us know.Best regards!

I contacted my hosting company and here was their response:
“Our team did a check of the file permissions and can confirm that there should be no obstruction.
In the wp-includes sub-directory there is an .htaccess file present that may have rules preventing WordPress from accessing certain files. We recommend either checking the file rules to see if they can be changed to allow access or you can also test by removing/renaming the .htaccess file all together.”
Neither of their suggestions worked. Anything else you can try?? I really need this theme to work.

Hello,
Please note that this is not a theme issue. The file responsible for this is a wordpress file, not theme’s. Did you delete/rename your .htaccess file? If the issue persists, then something on your server is writing that rule that stops this file from getting found, right after the .htaccess file is created.
Please deactivate all plugins, rename .htaccess once again and then activate Visual Composer first.
As i said this is a server issue so you better work with your hosting provider to fix it.
Or install a fresh copy of wordpress files.Best regards!
