After updating my website to latest version of Specular and WordPress I now cannot update my Widgets under Appearance (due to Gutenberg Widget Block Editor which I do not want). I get many errors and everything looks different. Hope you can help.
-
Also, my sidebars and the widgets that were present have now gone and I can’t see how to get them back. Help!

Hi,
Kindly confirm from which theme version you updated to latest version ?
Thanks

Hi,
No, my query is from which version you migrated ? Or you can say what was your theme version before moving to 4.2 ?
Thanks

Apologies but I’m not sure which version I upgraded from. I think it was about 10 months since I last updated. The website only gets used once a year so updates tend to get done all in one go just before we start selling products in time for the Christmas season.

Hi,
Then kindly revert back to put your site to previous stable release. Because in this year WordPress has many major updates and so did our themes and plugins and it can crash your website because of conflicts. Now, you can revert back to earlier stable release then it will be done step by step or you can put if working on some staging site and once done you can put all live.
That’s the way for you now.
Thanks

Which release should I install and how do I download this older version please?

I’ve downgraded WordPress to v5.6.4 and my original widgets are back so all looks ok for now. Thanks for your advice.
