WPBakery doesn't load on the front-end

      Hi all,

We’re having an issue with our site where WPBakery doesn’t seem to get past the infinite loading icon when attempting to use the front-end editor. I spoke with their support and they indicated there’s a PHP error originating from the following file in the theme:

      “<span class=”im”>PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function vc_generate_dependencies_<wbr />attributes() in /nas/content/staging/<wbr />getyoufound/wp-content/<span style=”color: #ff0000;”>themes/<wbr /><span class=”il”>tower</span></span>/functions-<span class=”il”>tower</span>.php“</span>

Could you all help us figure out what’s going on? Thanks!

      Hello,

Please make sure to have theme updated and all included plugins at the last version first. Deactivate all third party plugins second. If the error persists, add some wp credentials in a private reply. So we can check it closely.

      Best regards!

      Hello,

I see you are using the latest WP Bakery plugin. This has not been tested just yet with this version of theme. Please delete it and keep only the included version of Visual Composer. This is tested and customized to be 100% compatible with theme.

Side Note: We are working on the next theme update, that will have the latest WP Bakery included. It will be released soon. You will be notified via email regarding it.

      Best regards!

      Hey Mirella,

I did just that, but I’m still seeing the loading issue, could you take another look please?

      Thanks!

      Hello,

Yes, i see. There is an error related to the TinyMCE editor. Please deactivate all third party plugins. Keep only the ones that came with theme.
The front-end works well on my side. So we need to identify what’s conflicting with it.

      Best regards!

      Hello,

I deactivated all plugins, then activated them one at a time. The Yoast plugin is the culprit.
The Wp Bakery is showing ok now.

      Best regards!

      Hello,

Technically the Yoast plugin has no issues with theme. But you have other third party plugins that could have altered some script in the site. Each plugin you install is a chunk of code that affects the current code. Be it theme’s or other plugins. Some changes may not revert back even if you deactivate the plugin causing it.

That’s why is advisable to keep as less plugins as possible.
If you install theme in a localhost and install only included plugins + Yoast, you will see it will not cause any issue.

      Best regards!

      Hi Mirella,

I completely understand that, but unfortunately that’s not an answer I can take back to my client. Is there absolutely no way to get WPBakery to work on the front end? I had WPBakery’s team take a look and they said it was due to customized scripts in their plugin from your theme. My client just needs it to work at the end of the day.

      Hello,

Of course you can use WP Bakery, but the Yoast plugin should be inactive. As mentioned, this is not an issue with theme because we have tested with and used Yoast in our installations, as well as other customers have used it well. It’s your specific installation that has some script conflicting with it.
I could suggest replacing theme files with freshly downloaded ones, while having third party plugins inactive. So if there were changes made they will be replaced by new unchanged files.
Just make sure to save a backup of old files in case you have made direct changes to them, or these changes will be lost.

      Best regards!
