I checked the .htaccess file and it seems OK. None of the changes on the permalinks are reflected on site. Please contact your hosting provider and request/check that ‘mode_rewrite’ on server is enabled.

1. You must add images with the same sizes, that’s why the portfolio items aren’t organized.

2. I suggest you to use any order plugin (custom post type order plugin) for that, so you can set the order as you want.

It’s difficult to find out where the ‘+’ sign is coming from. It’s not part of the theme. You must check the code on debugging mode and try to find it out.

For the VK icon change o hover, you must add another image at the same folder with different color icon.
Then add this css code on custom css field on general settings:

.social_widget .vk img:hover {
background: url("");//put between quotes the image url.
}
