You have to add a new CSS for the label:
.label{color:#222 !important; font-size:14px; background:transparent !important; text-shadow:none !important;}
The code above have to added in the child-theme style.css or into Tower > General > Custom Css Box..

All the issues you seen with the theme are caused by the third-party plugin especially the CSS and JS optimizers.
Please try to disable cache plugins and optimizers one by one to find out which is the real cause of this issue.
You can change the single post layout by access WordPress Dashboard > Specular > Blog Config > Post Style > Modern.
Click Save.
I’m not sure if you can use this element, because this isn’t created by default with the theme.
