this solution is not working any longer, as “specular\vc_templates\services_large.php” is not existing in new template version?!
Any suggestions how to resume to that function?
you will not be able to see that stuff since I’ve only downloaded the actual version, but not yet installed, because I’d first check if I have als the resources and information with me.
In case of the plugin which should come along with the downloaded resources this is not so.
So where is the source of this Plugin with ensures the backward compatibility for WP Bakery?
That was NOT my question! You announced, that the plugin “backwards compatibility plugin” is included in the downloaded files, but it isn’t.
I will not update, if the required data is not there.
Unfortunately I can’t upload files here, otherwise I would send a screenshot of the loaded files that they can see that the plugin is not included in the files.
And why should I deactivate the theme and reactivate it again???

1. update via Envato Plugin is the right way and is working?
2. is WP Bakery a discontinued product for Specular? If so, how do the pages need to be redesigned to prepare for this transition (in future)?
3. as you mentioned it: which minimum php-version is mandatory?
4. or a little wider: which system requirements are given for updating to 4.1x?
5. which plugins are known not to work with version 4.1x of the Specular theme?
I appreciate your detailed answer on the specific questions, since I know already that having a backup is always a good idea ;o)

For me it seems there are a lot of problems existing… @support: As your providing an old version along with the 4.1 version we assume that you are expecting downright problems, is that right? All users who use the theme in a productive environment are of course afraid that everything will be broken after the update.
The problem is, that I’m not receiving any notification if anyone replies to my forum’s entry (wether I’m setting ‘Notify me of follow-up replies via email’ or not). So I’m not able to answer just in time :o(
