in reply to: Responsive Issues: Header, Menu, Search

    1) Thank you – I’ll let you know if this doesn’t work.

    2) Okay – perhaps it was an issue with his tablet, and not with the site.

    3) I will ask my friend who has the iphone4 to check, and let you know if it doesn’t work.

    4) Thank you! I’ll send you the credentials in a private reply.

in reply to: Responsive Issues: Header, Menu, Search

    1) Thank you – I will ask the owner of the ipad to test, and let you know if it doesn’t work.

    2) I can’t give you a video, because it wasn’t my tablet; a family member showed me when I saw him recently. I’m not sure how else to describe it; the dropdown menus are basically stuck in the down position – clicking on another part of the page does not remove them. So if they happen to drop down over a part of the page you are trying to view, you are out of luck. Only clicking on an html link to another page or refreshing the page makes them go away.

    3) I apologize for not being clear. I am referring to the menu icon (the three small lines) that appears to the left of the logo in the header bar, not the menu itself. Also, this is an issue that is specifically with the iphone 4 (which is a fairly small screen.) Everything looks fine on my smartphone, which is a more standard size/Nexus 5x.

    4) I did not expect you to customize, I was just hoping there would be a link or widget you could direct me to where I could research it myself. Thanks anyway.

in reply to: Logo and Product Column Issues

    1) This has been happening for a while – it’s been on my list to ask for help with but it isn’t a huge problem, so I waited until I had time to deal with it. We have made some minor modifications to the navigation bar over the months (you have helped) though nothing major. We made the header not transparent, and you added some code to make the header sticky on mobile. I don’t believe it is plugin related. I just deactivated all of my plugins and tested it, and it still occurred.

    2) Can you please tell me where to find the woocommerce.css file? I apologize, but I can’t locate it.

    3) I apologize for not being more clear. This is on the home page (https://www.lavenderconnection.com), under the slider. I have a visual composer element “woocommerce products”, and under that a visual composer element “call to action”. Sometimes, using IE and Chrome (though I’ve never seen it with Firefox) the “call to action” element appears over the top of the “products” element.

in reply to: Suggest us Features

I would love two different features for products (assuming Woocommerce as the plugin) – these are most likely Woocommerce additions not template additions, but I thought I’d suggest them just in case:

    1) Simple products: Allow an option to display the product size (not related to the product weight/shipping weight down in “additional info”) – up at the top, near the product title. For example, a product that is 8 fl oz would show that up near the title (even though the shipping weight may be more like 14 oz.)

    2) For variable products, have the product price change up at the top where it currently shows the range.

    3) For variable products, show the product price next to the variation in the dropdown list.

    Mihaila –

I paid someone to fix it, because I don’t have luck getting responses from the Woocommerce forum. Here is what they found, for anyone who is looking in the future:

‘This was caused by a Javascript error in one of the files: public_html/wp-content/plugins/js_composer/assets/js/dist/frontend-editor.min.js. It was using delete operation in one array that needed to be changed to a function.”

    Mihaila –

    1) I apologize, I meant it was a plugin from CodeCanyon (not Codeless.) It is a plugin that allows you to sell gift certificates/gift cards for your store. I have not yet heard back from the author.

    2) The element that is still having issues with is: Within Visual Composer, click + to add an element, and select the “Products” option from Woocommerce. This element allows you to select products from your store to show within that row (you can change the number of columns, and select any products you want.) They show up as a list on the backend/within the element. You should be able to delete them from the list. The issue is that once I type in/selected a product within the element, I cannot then delete it. I delete, it disappears, I hit “save” and go back into the element, and the product is still there. Once I have selected products, if I change my mind and decide I want to display something else, I have to entirely delete the element and start over. Here is a screenshot of what I’m talking about – if I were to delete the bath salts from the list (by clicking on the x) and hit “save changes” then open it again, the bath salts would still be there.

If you are certain this is a Woocommerce issue (and not something related to Visual Composer or the theme) then I will pose this question in the Woocommerce forum and hope that someone responds.

    Thank you!

UPDATE: I resolved one part of the issue. For some reason, the products whose images I had changed had reset to being “hidden” in the Woocommerce/Visibility options. I found the cause – it was a plugin I had purchased from Codeless, and I have removed the plugin and will work with the author to try and resolve the issue. In the meantime, the products are now all showing in the home page, and when I remove/add a product image, the product is no longer re-setting to “hidden.”

However: there is still a remaining issue. Once I have added a product to the list within the “Products” element (in Visual Composer), I  cannot delete it. The only option is to delete the entire element and start over.  I can certainly do this as a workaround, but again, it concerns me that something is amiss within the site. I used to be able to just delete a product and add a different one. I can make other changes withing the element (ie changing the number of columns) – it is only this specific portion of the element that does not work (deleting products once they’ve been added.)

If this is not something you cannot help with, please direct me to which forum I need to contact. I’m uncertain if this would be considered a Woocommerce or Visual Composer error. I have already tried asking in the Visual Composer forum, but they said it wasn’t their problem.

I changed the index page to “under construction” until we get this resolved, so the page I am referring to is: https://66.147.244.177/~lavendl6/home

Mihala – I restored a backup from a week ago, before the plugins were installed, and the issue wasn’t resolved. None of the new plugins is installed at this point.

The issue seems to be directly related to changing the product image. Once I change an image, the product disappears from the element. So: only products with their “original” images appear. Any product with an image I’ve changed does not. In addition, once a product is added to the list within the element, I can’t delete it – even when it isn’t showing up on the page. I don’t know when the issue started, because I haven’t tried to change any of the images since I originally uploaded them, months ago.

Can you take a look? I’m more concerned that there is a script error within my site, than I am about getting the feature to work. I’d love it to work, but I can always remove it and do something else. However, the error would still be there, and it might cause other issues in the future.

I will send you my credentials in a private reply.

    Thanks!

UPDATE: I did a full restore of a backup from a week ago, to ensure that any issues with plugins were removed. The products appeared again on my home page, and I thought everything was fine.

However, when I tried to change the image associated with one of the products, the product disappeared again from the list of “Featured Products” on my home page. This list is created using Visual Composer, with the Woocommerce Product element. The product still shows within the element as being selected – but it does not appear on the home page with the other 3 featured products.

I tried to delete that product from within the element in order  to see if a different product would appear, but it would not delete. I deleted it from the list, hit “save” and then updated the page. However, when I go back into the element, the product is still listed (though it is not showing.)

I then created an entirely new row, and added a new Woocommerce “Products” element, where I listed the four products I want showing. Again, the three products whose images I have not changed appear – but the one product (bath salts) whose image I changed, does not. I tried changing the bath salts image back to the original, and that didn’t work either.

I am at a loss – I would love for the “Featured Products” element to work, because it is one of the reasons I purchased the template. Can you help?

in reply to: Dropdown Customize, Search Results, and Static Google Map

    Mihaila –

That code didn’t work, but I played around and with the logo at -140px it finally looks centered above the menu. I am a little concerned that this will only look good on my phone (since a margin of -140px seems drastic). Shouldn’t the logo just be centered, like the rest of the menu items, relative to the other margins/size of phone? Or am I worried about nothing?

Also, the first menu item is still too far to the left. I tried adding to the margin { margin-left: 30px !important;} but it didn’t affect it at all.

    Mihaila –

Thank you so much for all of your help!

    1) For some reason, even after clearing my cache, the google map still isn’t static on the sideways view. It isn’t on my husband’s phone either (he also has a Nexus 5x.) I’m going to stop worrying about it, or remove the map, so don’t worry about spending any more time trying to resolve it. Thank you for trying.

    2) Thank you! I changed the menu items to be what I want, so it all works great now. The final thing is that the spacing at the top of the menu is off. The logo (which appears above the menu) is off center and cut off on the right, and the top menu item (Visit The Farm) is more left than the other menu items. Here is a screenshot of what I mean:  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4h0j1zXr6_xWVpqYURZbFZoeGc/view?usp=sharing

    4. I am using a Nexus 5x.

    6. I’m sorry to be unclear. So are you able to log in? Or do you need me to resend the credentials in another private reply?

    Mihaila –

    2. Thank you!

    4. This still is not working on my phone (the google map is static when the phone is upright, but when I move it to horizontal the map goes back to being scrollable.) Is my smartphone perhaps outside the width you have set, so it is defaulting to the tablet settings?

    6. I’m not sure what you mean by “send us the topic you are mentioning so we can edit it”? My original issue is the same: I’ve got my responsive menu style (Tower>Header Options) set to the “side menu” style. However, the menu items showing on this menu (“Home”, “Template Default”, “Agency WordPress” and “Theme”) are not the menu items for my site. When I select the “standard” side menu style, the correct menu shows. In the screenshots I sent you privately, you can see what I mean. You said above that you need to check the menu files. Do you need anything other than my FTP credentials?
