This much loading time is not normal. I suggest you contact your host first and increase the server requirements. You may need to increase the file size loading or the allocated memory for WordPress.

Can you please be more specific on what css changes are you making using the Visual Composer? Are you using the included version of the plugin or an independent version?
Yes, that is why you need to always use the included plugins! We update the theme frequently so there is no need for an external update. If you face any issue with the included plugin, let us know so we can fix it.
To start using the included version, just delete this version you have installed and refresh the page. You will get a message in the dashboard, asking you to install the required plugins. Follow the instructions and that’s it.
Your demo is imported ok. I only added some pages to the menu and moved the imported widgets in the header area in Appearance > Widgets. The other imported widgets are located in the “Inactive Widgets” area.
